The Swedish Ice Hockey Association (Svenska Ishockeyförbundet) has taken the initiative to present a number of energy efficiency proposals for the country's ice rinks in order to contribute to reduced energy consumption and a better environment. The publication, which will be entitled "21 Unbeatable Ways to More Efficient Ice Rink Operation", will contain a total of 21 action proposals and will be released in two rounds. This first round contains 10 action proposals and in the second and final release, a total of 21 action proposals will be presented.
The idea is that the action proposals will help the ice rinks to minimize restrictions in operation while contributing to reduced energy consumption and a better environment. Given the current situation in the world and the consequences that this has brought economically and environmentally, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association believes it is important to contribute with tips and recommendations that can help ice rinks to become more energy efficient.
The proposals in the document have been developed by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's Facility Committee in collaboration with EKA, Nima Maskin, and with financial support from the Swedish Sports Confederation (RF). These companies have experience and expertise in the area of energy efficiency and have helped to identify profitable measures that can be implemented in the ice rinks.
To disseminate information about the action proposals, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association will hold a number of seminars around Sweden where the results will be presented. The goal is to help ice rinks become more energy efficient and at the same time contribute to reduced energy consumption and a better environment.
