The F-gas regulation and developments around PFAS are changing the conditions for synthetic refrigerants. For EKA, the developments strengthen a strategy that we have had for a long time: working with natural refrigerants.

How is your work related to the F-gas Regulation and the issue of PFAS?
– We at EKA have long decided to work with natural refrigerants. It is a fundamental strategy for us.
Why is this choice becoming increasingly important?
– The F-gas regulation and the future PFAS regulation will exclude many of the synthetic refrigerants on the market. This will make natural refrigerants the natural alternative.
What do you recommend to your customers?
– When we work on projects today, we recommend our customers to choose a natural alternative. We see it as a long-term choice that reduces uncertainty when faced with the choice of refrigerant.
For EKA, the choice is not just about which solution works today. It is also about taking into account how the conditions for refrigerants change over time.
