At the end of August, Jörgen Rogstam from EKA held a four-day technical training course at Ferla, on behalf of CO2 Academy. The focus was entirely on the natural refrigerant CO₂ (R744) – from the basics to more advanced technology and system understanding.

The training began with an introduction for the entire staff and then continued with more in-depth sessions for technicians and engineers. The modules covered areas such as system design, safety, and operational optimisation.

During the course, Simon Bolteau led a well-received session on digital calculation tools, where participants had the opportunity to try out different tools for simulation and sizing.

Friday’s study visit took the group to the plant room at the Forskaren building, where a CO₂ unit is used to provide cooling for commercial kitchens and heat for domestic hot water and heating systems. The installation is not a Ferla case, but it provided valuable insights into the technology in practical operation.

Alongside the theoretical training, participants also had the opportunity to present and discuss their own ongoing projects. Several of Ferla’s own installations were used as examples in the technical discussions, creating a clear connection to their day-to-day work and strong engagement among the participants.

Four days of intensive learning, relevant discussions and practical insights – thank you to Ferla for a great collaboration!
