At AIMday Big Science Technology 2025 in Lund, leading international research facilities met with Nordic companies and scientists to explore new opportunities for collaboration. EKA participated not only as an attendee but also as an active contributor — presenting a real-world example of successful industry–research cooperation.
Sharing our success story — collaboration with CERN
Jörgen from EKA, together with Fredrik Strengbohm from Assemblin, presented the joint project delivered to CERN. This collaboration is a tangible result of the Big Science network and highlights how technical expertise, the right contacts, and mutual trust can lead to international business in some of the world’s most advanced research environments.
It was valuable to share our journey — from first contact to implementation — and to demonstrate how Swedish engineering companies can make a real impact in global research infrastructures.

AIMday creates meetings that move things forward
The event brought together eight of Europe’s leading research facilities, including CERN, ESS, MAX IV, and European XFEL. More than 100 meetings were held based on 24 submitted technical challenges. So far, these discussions have already led to 20 potential pre-studies.
For EKA, the day provided new contacts, fresh insights, and several promising starting points for future collaboration.
Thank you for the opportunity
We’re grateful for the opportunity to take part in such a well-organised and forward-looking event. A big thank you to Big Science Sweden, BigScience.dk and the INPROCAP project — and to everyone who attended our presentation. We look forward to continuing the conversation.
